As Albert Einstein once wisely noted, ‘play is the highest form of research.’ At Space For Play, we believe that play is one of the most vital and important aspects of childhood. During play, children learn more about the world and themselves than we could ever attempt to teach. We follow a child-led approach and allow children the freedom to play and learn without constant adult interruption. Caregivers closely observe and support children in their activities but are constantly mindful of the power of uninterrupted play.
We use a concept called Sustained Shared Thinking (SST) to interact with children which is defined as a two-way collaboration between child and caregiver in which the child and adult interact in an equal way to find solutions to problems, further understanding or expand an idea.
As our name suggests, Space For Play, aims to provide a safe, stimulating and supportive environment for children to play.
