Job title: Owner, Registered Person, Baby Nest Leader, Designated Safeguarding Lead

Qualifications:
BA Hons Integrated Working with Children and Families
Pikler Trained
Paediatric First Aid

I have worked in childcare for 15 years and have studied the Pikler Approach. This approach has taught me the importance of working in partnership with children as they grow. I strongly believe when a child has the right tools for their emotional, social and physical development, they become confident, independent learners which ignites their curiosity. I feel this supports children to blossom into successful and happy adults. The outdoors is important to me as it plays a key role in developing children who are physically active, healthy and developing resilience for challenges in life.

LAURA LOVELOCK

Job title: Manager, Pre-school Leader, SENCO and Designated Safeguarding Lead

Qualifications:
Foundation Degree (Distinction) in Early Childhood Education and Care
Level One Makaton
Paediatric First Aid

I have a huge passion for Early Years Education and firmly believe the first two-thousand days of life are the most important in forming who we become. My biggest interests lie in young children’s emotional wellbeing, the power of sharing books and the benefits of being outdoors. Seeing the world through the eyes of a child is truly magical and I feel privileged to play a tiny part in helping the next generation grow.

Job title: Early Years Apprentice

I have been working at Space for Play in a voluntary role for almost three years and have decided to undertake the Level 3 qualification to further my knowledge and training and become a qualified Early Years Practitioner.

Before undertaking my level 3 qualification I completed a total of three years at university in another area of study but decided to pursue my career in childcare. I love working with and alongside children, and helping them develop into the smart, kind individuals they become.

My future career plans are to further my experience in an Early Years setting before obtaining a Foundation Degree in Health Play Specialism to help children with play whilst in hospital.  I love Space for Play and everything it stands for and am looking forward to my future career development there.

Jessica SAMUELS

Job title: Early Years Apprentice (Baby Nest)

Qualifications: Working towards Level 2 Early Years Practitioner

I’ve always wanted to do something within childcare and when I got this opportunity to do an apprenticeship, I was over the moon. I am excited to bond with the children and get to know their personalities. I will help them develop new skills that will help them with their physical and social development. I love working for Space For Play. We make sure each child receives as much help and support for their individual needs.

Job title: Early Years Apprentice (Pre-school)

I am really excited to be starting my apprenticeship in Early Years at Space For Play. I have previously volunteered in a primary school and that is where my love for working with children began. I want to continue to gain further knowledge and start my journey towards a long term career in a child education setting. I feel a child’s first few years are most important as this is when they learn to become more independent, prepare to start school, show their different personalities off and learn things they will use for the rest of their lives! I am looking forward to being a part of such a caring team and supporting the children while here at Space For Play.
